THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
Autumn (September to November) marks the gradual change from summer to winter and is probably the season with the biggest range in weather conditions. Septembers and even Octobers in Britain can often still be summery, recently even recording higher temperatures than August.
September is the ninth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars, the third of four months to have a length of 30 days, and the fourth of five months to have a length of less than 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, September is the seasonal equivalent of March in the Southern Hemisphere.
In the Northern hemisphere, the beginning of the meteorological autumn is on 1 September. In the Southern hemisphere, the beginning of the meteorological spring is on 1 September.
World weather in September: The average temperature in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in September is mild at 14.4°C (57.92°F). Afternoons can be somewhat warm with average high temperatures reaching 19.3°C (66.7°F).
January is the hottest month in Buenos Aires with an average temperature of 76°F (25°C) and the coldest month is July at 53°F (12°C), with the most daily sunshine hours at 9 hours in February. The wettest month is January with an average of 100mm of rain.
September (from the Latin septem, "seven") was originally the seventh of ten months on the oldest known Roman calendar, with March (Latin Martius) the first month of the year, until perhaps as late as 153 BC. After the calendar reform that added January and February to the beginning of the year, September became the ninth month, but retained its name. It had 29 days until the Julian reform, which added a day.
For many, the month of September signals the end of summer, the beginning of autumn, and the start of a new school year. September comes from the Latin root septem-, meaning “seven,” because in the original Roman republican calendar, September was the seventh month of the year rather than the ninth.
The September birthstone, sapphire, was once thought to guard against evil and poisoning. It was believed that a venomous snake would die if placed in a vessel made of sapphire. Traditionally a favourite stone of priests and kings, the sapphire symbolizes purity and wisdom.
Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is most desired for its pure, rich blue color, but is present in almost every color, including pink, yellow and green. In the Middle Ages, the gem was believed to protect those close to you from harm and it also represented loyalty and trust.
The Aster or the September flower is the flower for this month of September.

Call them the perfectionists or the efficient ones, Virgos carry powerful personalities. Virgo, which is the sixth of the 12 signs of the zodiac, begins around August 23 and goes on until September 22. Therefore, it is time to move over Leos and familiarise yourself with the traits of a Virgo.
A Virgo personality is a mix of intelligence, attention to detail, common sense, and commitment, and a woman born with her in this sign is very smart and modest. Virgos are logical, practical, and systematic in their approach to life. This earth sign is a perfectionist at heart and isn't afraid to improve skills through diligent and consistent practice.
